Sugar, spice and all things...NICE?!! Yep, Optimum nail festive Gingerbread in new Cake Bites!

Well...these were a cheeky surprise!! And just when we thought Optimum Nutrition were losing their mojo on these 'deliciously whipped' Cake Bites!

Fresh into the Mix, the stateside arm of Optimum Nutrition (they have the little, round, cake-style patties you see here - packed in 3s - whilst we have the larger and slightly softer chocolate log-style 'whipped' bites - packed in 2s) have hit us with a storming seasonal special...GINGERBREAD flavoured bites!

In a wonderfully fun and festive wrapper adorned with extremely happy looking Gingerbread Men (Elf would approve!!) you'll find the usual 3 coated cakey bites...and they even SMELL amazing!!

The star of the show here is the bold, richly spiced, dark and gingery centre...definitely closer to an old-fashioned, brown sugar-sweetened cake (UK folks...know the McVitie's Jamaica Ginger Cake? That's the flavour!) rather than a sharper, almost peppery ginger experience like that of a Ginger Nut biscuit (or the new Quest Gingerbread Ltd Edition cookie, come to that!) and, no offence to a Ginger Nut, the cake is the ONE...especially in this cake bite-y context!!

Too much ginger? Nope!! This flavour COULD get too heavy quick...if not for the gorgeous, creamy, yogurt-style glazed frosting ON have smothered this in!!! It compliments the intensity of the centre PERFECTLY, making this a winter-y, (protein) afternoon tea delight!!

Props, Optimum!! We were a little worried after seeing how divided folks were over Choc Frosted Donut and Fruity Cereal Cake Bites (although, to be fair, the new-ish Choc Peanut Butter ones were a big hit!) but you haven't let us down on this, one of our favourite festive flavours!!

And for the numbers? 20g protein per trio pack...gluten free...super low fibre (if you watch that!)....vegetarian-friendly and just 200kcals and 3g sugar, too!! Translation? You can EASILY justify these...and you totally should!
